Vietnamese Constitutional Monarchist League
The Imperial Nguyen Dynasty, reigning as a Constitutional Monarchy is the only possible legitimate government for present day Vietnam. The Dynasty had ruled over parts of Vietnam since the first century of the Christian era. The Nguyen Dynasty took the Imperial Throne in 1802 and thirteen Nguyen Emperors ruled the Empire of Vietnam and the vassal Kingdoms of Cambodia and Laos. The Monarchy survived the years of French interference and Japanese occupation until in 1945, the Communist leader Ho Chi Minh coerced the Emperor to abdicate. In 1950, the Emperor returned to take the position of Head of State of the Republic of Vietnam. Unfortunately for the people of Vietnam, His Imperial Majesty Emperor Bao Dai, who was deposed after a well known fraudulent referendum in the year 1954. We the members of the Vietnamese Constitutional Monarchist League believe that the restoration of the Nguyen Dynasty, and a government based on freedom and democracy as well as the ancient traditions of Vietnam is the best solution for the Vietnamese people.
